Greydogs Swimming Team has started GreyPups Learn to swim coaching at the Waterstone leisure pool.
Grey “Puppy” Pup series (pre-schooler 3 – 5 years)
This series of lessons are designed to introduce babies and young children to water safety activities and provide the first steps to water safety.
Requirement: None
Goal: water safety and introduce independent sustainable movement in the water
Grey “Seal” Pup series (4 – 6years)
This series of lessons are designed to teach swimmers how to swim. The focus is on propulsion, kicking and various body positions in the water.
Requirement: Grey “Puppy” Pup goals
Goal: learn propulsion, kicking and body positions
Grey “Otter” Pup series (5 – 8yrs) “Mini squads”
This series of lessons are designed to introduce young children to the 4 strokes i.e. Stroke Construction.
Requirement: Grey “Seal” Pup goals
Goal: Stroke construction for all strokes
Private and shared lessons are 20 minute lessons, private lessons are one on one and shared lesson have two swimmers in a lesson. Mini Squads are 30 minute lessons with a maximum of 4 swimmers per group.
All our coaches are Swim South Africa Learn-To-Swim (SSA-LTS) qualified and abide by the annual registration regulations set out by SSA. As a member of the American Swim Coaches Association, this is where much of our guidance and inspiration is derived from for lesson plans/progression.
